. According to the Keeper, what is the point of the Circle, and why does regular justice often fail?11/16/2016 What is the point of the Circle, and why does regular justice often fail? Well…The whole point of the circle justice is to deal with criminal problems in the community. For example such as sacrifice, spiritual. So the circle of justice comes together to betterment their community. In addition the circle is not about punishment. For example Cole’s crime was that he beaten up peter and assaulted him. For that he could have gotten to go to jail but he decided to go to circle justice for help and fix his problem. The circle is not about punishment. It is more about taking responsibility for his actions, letting go of his pain and making amends. Prison simply punishes and would make Cole even angrier. Why does regular justice often fail? The regular system merely punishes the perpetrator without acknowledging the victim's needs. The perpetrator merely gets angry without taking responsibility for his or her actions.
